Who is This For?
This workshop is ideal for students who have been training with me regularly for at least 6 months and want to refine their form in a supportive and focused setting. You will need to be able to perform Part 1 of the Tai Chi long form even if you need to copy me as I do it. (You are not required to have memorised it off by heart.)
Content
In this second session, we will cover the following:
- movement exercises to generate relaxed power
- how to move in the form
- more movements in the form postures: the first rotation, through to single whip (excluding single whip)
Important note: the intention for these workshops is not for you to learn more (breadth) but to understand and feel more (depth). So I don’t necessarily want you to come away with more details of the form. Instead, you will come away with a better understanding of how to move throughout the form. What we do in these workshops will develop your ability to perform the entire form NOT just the first 7 or 8 moves. If you just want the details, then you could watch any of my videos in the library. Whereas in these workshops, I get to see you move and develop your ability to move and your ability to feel the internal workings which requires a two-way dialogue and our time which you cannot get in a video or book nor a normal class. To badly apply an analogy – I am teaching you how to fish rather than giving you a fish.
